Students Show Racism the Red Card

Students from Campsmount Technology College and Danum School Technology College attended an anti-racism event supported by the charity Show Racism the Red Card and hosted by Doncaster Rovers Football Club.

A film featuring famous footballers including Thierry Henry, Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand and Jermain Defoe focused on key racism issues and the player spoke about their own experiences of racism.

The film was followed by a question and answer session with Mayor Martin Winter and Rovers players Jos Van Nieuwstadt and Stuart Elliot.

All the students enjoyed meeting the players and went away with an understanding of why racism should not be tolerated. The students also received a poster of the Doncaster Rovers squad supporting the campaign and a free ticket to see the Rovers play Blackpool.
