Following the launch of the Doncaster Volunteer Awards the Mansion House played host for the very first awards ceremony where Councillor Stuart Exelby, Deputy Mayor of Doncaster proudly presented 16 young people with their very first award.

To qualify for an award volunteers have to donate their time for the benefit of others within the community and gain awards for 50 hours (bronze), 100 hours (silver) and 200 hours (gold). Stephanie, one of the successful volunteers was awarded with both a Bronze 50 hour and Silver 100 hour award for volunteering as a Youth Support Worker at Wheatley Park Youth Centre.
The volunteering scheme also offers the chance to meet new people and make new friends, learn new skills, get training, improve confidence and help improve future job choices.
